Our Story
Leslie Ave Candle Co. started in my kitchen with absolutely no intention of becoming a business.
I just wanted a really good candle.
I wanted something that smelled really good, burned beautifully, and was made with ingredients I felt good about using in my own home. Because, to be honest, most candles you find in your typical stores just aren’t the greatest quality.
So, I started making them myself.
I began by creating scents and practicing my methods with wax melts. Once I mastered those, I moved on to candles. The first few batches weren’t great… but they got better. And somewhere between testing fragrances, wicks, jars, and labels, pouring batch after batch, and giving candles to the people I loved, a hobby turned into something much bigger.
Leslie Avenue is the street where it all started. I don’t live there anymore, but the name stayed. It reminds me of the version of this business that existed before the labels, the website, the orders, and all the plans for what it could become.
Just me, YouTube, and a double boiler in my tiny kitchen.
I grew up in the Midwest and spent most of my life as an athlete, so I’ve always been wired to work hard and probably obsess over the details a little more than necessary. My background is also in healthcare, so when I started making products, what went into them mattered to me just as much as how they smelled. Our candles are still hand-poured in small batches using 100% soy wax and thoughtfully selected, phthalate-free fragrance oils.
And while this may have started with candles, Leslie Ave. has grown into something bigger: a wide range of home and personal products designed to make everyday life feel a little better. The kind of products you reach for because they smell incredible, feel beautiful, and turn an ordinary moment into one you actually notice.
Little moments of happiness.
My husband Jared has become part of the behind-the-scenes operation, and this little business has been carried forward by an incredible group of family, friends, customers, and people who have believed in it from the beginning.
The mission is still pretty simple.
Enjoy your life.
Light the candle. Use the good stuff. Make your home smell amazing. Romanticize a random Tuesday if you want to.
Not because life is perfect or easy.
Just because you’re here, and that’s worth enjoying.
